How is my doctor
involved? Your physician determines and manages your home
care treatment plan. Special Design Healthcare maintains close
contact with you and your doctor at all times.
Where can I be
treated? Special Design Healthcare has provided home infusion
services for a variety of diseases in non-hospital settings. We can
provide services to you in your home, our infusion suite, skilled
nursing facility, doctor's office or outpatient surgery center.
Who is my Special Design
Healthcare team? Your Special Design Healthcare team includes
pharmacists, nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians and
reimbursement coordinators who specialize in outpatient services.
Each member of your Special Design Healthcare team has an extensive
health care background.
Who teaches me
self-care? At Special Design Healthcare , registered nurses,
respiratory therapist and clinical pharmacists train you or your
caregiver in sterile technique, equipment use and medication
administration. Nurses are present at the start of therapy to teach
about your medications and supplies, so you know exactly what to do.
You will also receive copies of our step-by-step instruction sheets
and you may call us with questions or concerns at any time.
How is my medicine
prepared? All medication is prepared under sterile conditions
in a certified laminer horizontal flow or vertical hoods by our
Special Design Healthcare Pharmacy Staff based on your own
physician's prescription.
How do I receive my
medication? All pharmaceuticals and supplies are delivered in
a timely, safe and professional manner, wherever you live.
How is my progress
tracked? Your response to treatment is regularly assessed and
monitored by our registered nurses and pharmacists. Your doctor is
given regular progress reports, verbally or in writing, to help
evaluate your progress.
What if my treatment program
changes? Special Design Healthcare understand that each
patient is unique and that treatment needs may change over time. We
can quickly respond to any changes in your treatment regimen. We
continually assess your needs and provide the correct medicines and
supplies.
What happens if there is an
emergency? Our registered nurses, respiratory therapist and
pharmacists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can
be assured of immediate, after hour, and ongoing support for you and
your family.
Is home infusion care for
me? If you feel that Special Design Healthcare may be an
alternative for you or a loved one, or if you have questions, ask
your doctor, discharge planner or social
